I have been making kites for over twenty years and feel I have it down to a fine art!  I specialise in complex appliquéd kites and often use a special dyeing technique which allows me to obtain tints and shades outside the normal range of colours normally available in ripstop nylon

Sky Blooms kites are made from quality ripstop nylon and also so are all tails, when provided. Spars are  normally Ramin dowel but I will also supply kites with fibreglass or carbon spars (at an additional cost!). All kites come with bags.

Basically I will appliqué almost anything onto any flat kite. Price will obviously depend on the complexity of the design. As a guide, a simple custom design would add around £15 to the prices shown below, obviously the more complicated (and larger the kite) the more it would cost. Generally speaking I do not have a stock of kites but there may be one or two smaller ones available. The kites shown in the Gallery are examples - either part of my private collection or have been ordered by customers. As no two kites will be exactly the same I have given a guide price for making a similar kite of the size shown, similar kites can also be made in smaller sizes - but price does really depend on what is on the kite and how difficult it is to make.
